What do you need for a Rotterdam Kapsalon? (for 1 person)
Basics:
A portion of fries
100 grams of shawarma meat (or döner)
50 grams of grated cheese (for example young cheese or cheddar)
For the salad:
A handful of iceberg lettuce
1/2 cucumber, thinly sliced
1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
Sauces:
Garlic sauce
Sambal (to taste)
How to make it:
Fry the fries: Fry the fries until they are golden brown and crispy. Drain them on kitchen paper.
Heat the meat: Heat the shawarma meat in a pan or grill until it is warm.
Prepare the salad: Mix the iceberg lettuce, cucumber and red onion in a bowl.
Build the Kapsalon: Place the fries in an oven dish. Divide the shawarma meat over it and sprinkle with the grated cheese.
Bake the cheese: Slide the dish under the grill until the cheese has melted nicely.
Serve: Remove the dish from the oven and divide the salad over it. Sprinkle generously with garlic sauce and sambal to taste.
Tip: For an extra crunch, you can mix in some onions or bell pepper.
